2004 CR-V 15 Years and Going Strong

LX

The CR-V has been the perfect vehicle for me. It's large enough to carry groceries, my kids, and my kid's friends without being too large to comfortably drive and park. The AWD makes it a dream to drive in inclement weather of all types. It has a very smooth, stable ride to it that makes me feel safe. With the exception of routine maintenance my vehicle has never experienced any major mechanical malfunctions of any kind. This has been the most reliable vehicle that I have ever owned. The interior is comfortable, and everything is located within easy reach. The sunroof is a nice feature, as well. This vehicle is a sturdy little workhorse that always gets the job done. The only downsides I have found are minimal. The AWD does make it less fuel efficient, but I would easily trade that for the stability in bad weather. The delay wipe setting is completely useless. For all of the things that Honda got right, they surely failed at this one. It is either too fast, or too slow for conditions, but this is really just a minimal problem. At 15 years old, my vehicle is still in excellent shape even through harsh Illinois winters. I love this vehicle so much that when it finally gives out, I will go out and get another one. I highly recommend the CR-V.

A Reliable, Versatile, Small SUV

EX

I love my Honda CR-V. As they say it the commercials, it's 'versatile.' It has a mix of car and SUV features. It's small enough (and has a small motor), so it gets good gas Mileage. But, it's also big enough and has the seats that fold down, so I can use it to transport cargo. In fact, I used my CR-V to move from an apartment to a house. It took multiple trips, but I was able to fit everything but my couch and washing machine. I've even used my CR-V to transport a water heater for a friend. The only problems that I've had with the car have been a few recalls regarding the air bags, and some of the computer sensors have worn out (and they were expensive to replace). My CR-V is incredibly reliable. I have the 'bare bones' version, but compared to my last car the extra features feel luxurious (for example, the multiple CD player). My CR-V is now 15 years old, and I've owned it for 13 of those years; but, it still runs great. Aside from some minor wear and tear, the CR-V has held up great over the years.

Great for Travel of all sorts

For the first 10 years that I owned my CRV I drove it only for short trips for errands. For the past 4 years we have towed it with our RV in which we live full time. We have it serviced annually and have had no big problems. The CR-V is great for getting around, exploring new places-both urban and rural and though not luxuriously comfortable is still great for long rides. I have a manual transmission, which I prefer, and we have been able to handle all road conditions-including rutted and flooded roads but are equally able to drive city streets and find parking with no problem. We also transport 2 kayaks and 2 bicycles on it with no problem. The storage space in back is quite large and we frequently use it not just for groceries but transporting any matter of things that are bulky. The sound system is adequate. At 14 it is still going strong and we hate the idea that someday we will have to give it up.
