2021 Kia Seltos Reviews

New baby, new car, until it broke down halfway to the beach with less than 3000 miles on it and had to be towed in a area without signal. Really nice to wait on the side of the road for a hour with my wife and 5 month old child for a tow truck. It was super hot and super dangerous. They are putting a new transmission in now but they said it could take a month. I can't wait for this transmission to nearly get us killed. Otherwise, we really liked the car! Do not buy this car.

I got my Seltos SX in Starbright yellow w/ black roof. I absolutely love the color and get so many compliments on the design. My bf is jealous that my car has better comfort and safety than his BMW 3 series and I love that it’s so economical for gas and maintenance unlike the SLK 350 I sold to purchase this. Way better infotainment system than our BMW, Mercedes and Porsche Macan combined. Got this so we have a baby/kid friendly car as we are starting a family soon and I made it very clear I wanted something cheap, maintenance free, good on gas (I average 27 local 30 highway 33 highway w/ cruise), fun to drive (dual clutch turbo is fun but has some jumpiness to get used to), with lots of cargo space (I’ve moved a big arm chair w/ tall side table, a dining room table with 6 chairs, and a dresser with mirror), backseat room with vents and charging port for friends and long trips, top of the line sound, tech, and safety for a reasonable price. All of these features were perfect on an 8 hour road trip I took the week I bought the car. Only 2 issues I’ve had are on hot august days there was a lag on clutch engagement twice and the dealership isn’t taking me seriously enough to look into it because no issues pop up in the car system (definitely keeping an eye on that) and with the cold weather this week the low tire pressure light wouldn’t turn off even after I added air to the tires but when I called uvo they turned it off remotely without even making an appointment. Things I wish it had: heating steering wheel, cooling seats, better sound proofing (but I tell my friends that’s what the Bose system is for lol) Overall I love my car and currently am looking to purchase it at the end of my lease if everything continues to hold up as it has so far and there are no major EV pricing shifts (told the bf that’s the only thing I’d trade for)

I bought a 2021 Seltos in April 2020. I had my first oil change (not at Kia) and within a few months there was a horrible ticking noise in the engine. The dealer told me that Kia does not alert buyers to this problem but the engines do not like aftermarket oil filters and they starve the engine of oil. The next phone call to me tried to say they weren’t covering it under warranty because the company that did the oil change used the wrong filter (lies). After reading back notes and dates of conversations I had leading up to that suddenly they changed their tune and replaced the entire engine block under warranty but it was a good 3 months start to finish. If I hadn’t had a big mouth and kept detailed notes I’m not sure the avaerage joe would have the same outcome. Be wary - I can’t wait to get rid of this vehicle.

I bought 2 Kia Seltos, one is a Sport and the other is the Sport turbo AWD, the ST AWD is awesome no issues, the Sport on the other hand is in the shop waiting for a transmission (CVT) blew in only 5 months and 3200 miles. We have been waiting now 41 days for the CVT to come in finally it is in LA and on its way so we should get it back within the next two weeks needless to say we are very disappointed in the Sport model, good thing I'm Leasing it I will be re-selecting when the lease is up. If it happens again I can claim Lemon Law even though it will only be a 2nd time due to the unreasonable time to repair clause in the Law. If your going to purchase the Seltos make sure it is the AWD model which has the 7 speed duel clutch transmission, Do not get the CVT.

At 1,000 miles I needed a new radiator as I was told during production they didn't "crimp" the seal around radiator properly. Was told no engine damage done given that it overheated and stalled while driving. No censors had gone off prior to engine just stopping. Then two days ago engine seized. No warning, no censors had gone off. I am now in communication with Kia Corporate stating I don't want my car back and I will never buy another Kia ever again!

Regret buying 2021 KIA Seltos. Barely drove the vehicle and its transmission broke down. Also there are multiple warning signs popping up on the dashboard and the dealer doesn't know the fix. The dealer updated the software twice but didn't fix the issue. This is what they offered me "Kia will provide you with 3 Car payments reimbursed for a total of $1,252.53 as a gesture of goodwill for any inconveniences you have experienced and consider your claim fully settled." What good is it if I can't use the car that I am paying for?

After 5 months of ownership, transmission failed. I spent hours on the phone trying to get it towed and serviced. The dealership servicing it refused to give a rental or loaner. After hours on the phone with kia customer service, they finally gave a rental so I could get home from the dealership. 40 days later, still no ETA on the transmission. If you want to spend time at the dealership driving a shitty rental, get the seltos. Pain and anger guaranteed

Two days and 68 miles into my 2021 Kia Seltos, the car started but would not go forward or backward. Had to contact KIA Roadside service which wanted me to only speak with a computer, not a human. Tow truck took two hours to arrive. Has been at Kia dealer for entire day with no answers. Furthermore, two days ago, when I bought the Seltos, I had to wait three hours before a "finance person" became available to handle the paperwork. Then he failed in properly transferring license plate to new car. Overall very bad experience thus far with Kia Seltos

I really do love my new car. It is a huge step up from my old pt cruiser. It has pretty good gas mileage, even for the city. It is also pretty spacious and that is a really nice for my husband and I because we are a military family and we do our fair share of driving. We have enough room for both of our medium sized dogs and most everything else we pack. My favorite thing about this car is that it is reliable. Maybe it is because I had so much trouble with our pt cruiser but this car is a dream comparing. I've never had problems with it. If I do, I know that the people from our Kia dealership are happy to help us solve any issues we may come across. I am glad I made the decision to purchase this car.

Kia Seltos SX AWD 1.6L 4cyl Turbo. Steel Gray I have always been a Jeep owner and will miss the Jeep family. I started out to get a Jeep Compass Limited for my retirement vehicle (since I don't go off-roading anymore). For what I payed for my new 2021 Kia sx turbo, Kias warranty. I got so much more than expected in value for the cost and it looks amazing inside and out. When sitting in the the roomy interior of the kia (I am 6 foot tall, 240 lb ), the styling and attention to detail their with the 10.3-inch navigation screen, all the driver-assistance tech, the Bose premium 8 speaker sound system looks and sounds very top end. Even the speaker grills are shaped like mountains when sitting in there, check out the passenger side grab handle on the shifting column, those comfortable seats that really fit under my long legs. A sign of modern times, when at a red light The Seltos Notifies You in two ways That Traffic Ahead of you is moving in front of you and it is time to Stop Paying attention to your smartphone and start paying attention to your driving and get going... Ha ha Do not be surprised if other car company's go with this helpful tech in the future... Looking at the exterior I noticed the wheels, the attention to detail in the front and the rear styling, even the fuel filler door has a touch of class the way it is shaped, fit and finish of the exterior, even the roof rails catch your attention there at the back. You set up high and have a good field of vision for safety and maybe lite off-roading (read below). Center differential lock, torque vectoring system for cornering. The 28% approach and departure angles. . (OK) not so much for the plastic skid plates front and rear. But it dose make it look a little more rugged-looking though and they do have a purpose. Also be aware the Kia dual-clutch transmission (is not) the transmission I would go off-roading with in Telluride, Ouray Colorado or Moab because it would cause it to over heat those dual clutches I would think... So lite off-roading, wet slippery conditions, snow and ice storms (with the right tires), dirt roads, maybe a little sand on the beach or some mud, those high curbs when parking. The quick 0 to 60, 195 lb ft of torque and that (the dual clutch transmission, with standard brake-based torque vectoring corner control system for this SUVs CUVs price point. ( I wanted to mention the best in class braking 60 to 0, this is just my opinion though). (The 235 wide tires in this class might have something to do with that though.) The stock Majesty Khumo tires on the Seltos SX are very quiet, grippy and received a very high rating on (Tire Racks tire Testing video) and Full Test Report. The Jeep Compass brakes were a little over·sensitive for myself compared to the Kia Seltos SX. I am impressed with the ride and how it handles on the rough curvy back roads for its class. There are some pavements that are louder than others but 95% of the time it is very good. On a windy day you get a little wind noise but not bad for its class, it has nice wide quiet 235 tires with 18 inch rims and is not as quiet as my 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland ha ha but it is almost half the price and It dose get twice the millage though. I am retired now and 28,000 29,000 was a good price point for myself. ... Reliability, It is to early to tell being a brand new model when I wrote this review, you probably could tell more in about 2 or 3 years but Kia is always right up there though.

I love my Kia seltos. I purchased this vehicle for all of its safety features. My Kia seltos helps me stay in my lane and on the road, alerts me of nearby vehicles when changing lanes and the back up camera makes seeing behind you very easy. The leather seats are soft and so is the steering wheel. And in the winter the seats warn you up. All of the windows and mirrors are easy to see out of. The driver seat and steering wheel are easy to adjust. And the back seats recline. The whole vehicle is spacious. I also love the sunroof. And the sound system is wonderful. You can also connect your phone via hard line or Bluetooth and get directions verbally or music from your phone. If you hard wire in then google maps will work on the awesome touch screen. This car also moves quickly depending on the driver mode and automatic to manual mode. And let us not forget the engine shutoff to help you save fuel when at the stop light. Thank you Kia for giving me a dreamy Kia seltos (which is better than a Chevrolet blazer).

Honestly I see no problems with this amazing car. It has surround sound capabilities as well as heated front seats. It has a luxurious smell that entices you the second you open the door. The ergonomic cup holders make dining and driving easy as pie. Definitely a family car that can seat eight and can double as a date night car to get it on. The entertainment system is the icing on the cake which can make long car trips with the kiddos a breeze. The car will definitely be worth the purchase.

I haven't had the vehicle for too long but the only thing I am not gassed about is the fact that it turns off (to save gas) when I stop. I know it is to help in the gas mileage but it takes a bit to 'get going' after releasing your foot from the break. I love the size and the handling of the vehicle. The great Bose system is fantastic for sound throughout the car. It is roomy enough and very comfortable. I like that it has 3 drive modes but have kept it on eco to make sure I am saving the most gas. Again, since covid-19, I haven't driven too much but feel it is a good vehicle and would be a good fit for a small family.
