The 2000 Toyota Corolla came factory standard with a 1.8L 4Cylinder engine that will have a motor oil capacity of 3.9 US quarts when the filter is included. For this vehicle You will need to use either conventional or synthetic blend 5W-30 motor oil. If You use conventional oil You will need to change out the oil every 5,000 miles but if You use a synthetic blend it will only need it done every 7,500 miles so there is some benefit to using it. If You want to take this car into a shop for an oil change You'll be looking at spending between $90 and $120 for a change.

The 1.8L inline-4 engine in the 2000 Toyota Corolla needs 3.9 quarts of 5W30 synthetic oil.
It doesn't need synthetic oil in 2000 I was running conventional oil 530 now I use synthetic blend although I do have some synthetic I put in there but I'm not obligated to you synthetic synthetic blend works fine and very very cold temperatures maybe synthetic has a better flow and startup but you don't need to use synthetic you can use synthetic blend. Right now I'm using Quaker State high mileage synthetic blend 5-30 it's a lower priced oil but the same quality is pennzoiler Shell oil it's owned by Shell oil so it's a very good oil for the price.
