The 2003 Nissan Sentra uses SAE 5w-30 full synthetic oil. It has a capacity of 2.9 quarts. Oil keeps the internal parts of Your engine lubricated and it also removes dirt, sludge, and other impurities which will keep Your vehicle running smoothly. The cost of an oil change for Your Sentra is between $40 and $50 for labor and between $70 and $80 for parts. You should get an oil change every 7,500 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first.. Signs that it's time for an oil change include a ticking sound coming from the engine, transmission shifting issues, shaking while idling, exhauSTSmoke, poor fuel economy, and of course if You see the Check Engine or Oil Change lights come on.

The base engine for the 2003 Nissan Sentra which is the 1.8L inline-4 needs 2.9 quarts of oil while the optional 2.5L inline-4 uses 4.2 quarts of oil. Both engine options require 5W30 synthetic oil.
What if we exceed more than 4.2 Q in 2.5L Sentra 2003? My mechanic adds 5.0 U.S Qt. Is that ok or no??
