The 2004 Nissan Pathfinder has a 3.5 L V6 engine that needS5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil in all temperatures or 10W-30 or 10W-40 in above 0 F temperatures. The capacity for the vehicle iS7.3 quarts with a filter and the torque for the drain plug is 22-28 ft/lbs. Oil is very important to use because it will help to keep the engine clean and running. The oil doesn't last forever so it needs to be changed every once in a while. For the Pathfinder You should change the oil and the filter every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. The cost of an oil change is between $40 to $50 in labor costs. It takes about 10 to 20 minutes to do the change depending on Your experience.

I don't know what you people are smoking, but for a colder climate you don't go with a higher viscosity. You have it backwards. And also the 2004 Nissan Pathfinder is not 7.3 quarts of oil, if you try to put that much and you're going to wreck everything.. Does anyone at proofread these answers or double check them??

You don't use higher viscosity oil for colder climates. Usually you use lower number. The higher numbers are for hot climates.

The 3.5L V6 standard engine in the 2004 Nissan Pathfinder requires 5.3 quarts of 5W30 synthetic oil. For colder temperatures 10W30 or 10W40 is acceptable. Check with your local dealership to verify what is the best use for your weather and driving conditions in cold weather.
