It is recommended to use Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 engine oil in the 2006 Ford Fusion or an equivalent that meets Ford specification WSS-M2C930-A. The capacity depends on which engine is in the car, the 2.3L I4 engine holdS4.5 quarts and the 3.0L DOHC V6 Duratec engine holdS6 quarts. Check the oil level often and if it falls below the normal operating range on the dipstick, add enough oil to bring it in range. You should have the oil changed every 6,00 miles of at least once a year. You'll want to change the oil filter and the filter cap O-ring as well. The 2.3L uses a FL-2017-B oil filter and the 3.0L uses a FL-820-S.

The 2006 Ford Fusion's 2.3L inline-4 engine has an oil capacity of 4.5 quarts while the 3.0L V6 engine for the 2006 Fusion takes 6 quarts of oil. Both engines for the 2006 Ford Fusion need 5W20 weighted synthetic blended oil.
