If You want to know the oil type on the 2006 Jeep Wrangler then it is SAE 5W-30 for the 2.4 L engine. For the 4.0 L engine, You will need SAE 10W-30. You can also tell which type Your Wrangler needs by the label on the oil filler cap. Now, if You want to know what the capacity is on Your vehicle, I've got You. The capacity on the 2.4 L engine iS5 US quarts. The capacity on the 4.0 L will come out to a total of 6 US quarts. Remember to check the oil level every week to make sure You're not driving around with a low oil level.

The 2.4L inline-4 engine for the 2006 Jeep Wrangler takes 5 quarts of 5W30 oil. The larger 4.0L V6 engine available in the 2006 Wrangler needs 6 quarts of 5W30. Both oil weights are based on using a synthetic formulated oil.
