The recommended oil type for the 2013 Toyota Highlander is SAE 0W-20 Synthetic for both the 2.7 L 4Cylinder and the 3.5 L V6 engines. The capacity for the vehicle iS4.6 quarts for the 2.7 L 4Cylinder and 6.4 quarts for the 3.5 L V6 engine. The torque for the drain plugs for both are 30 ft/lbs. It is essential to use oil because it helps to keep the engine clean and running correctly. However it doesn't last forever so You need to do oil and filter changes after a certain point. In the Highlander You should do an oil and filter change every 7,500 to 10,000 miles or so. The cost of a change is anywhere from $30 to $40 in labor costs.

If u use 5- 30 u should change it and put in recommend 0-20 because these engines have tighter clearances in bearings and require the recommended viscosity unless your motor has in excess of 300.000 kilometres
