There are three different engine sizes available in the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro -- a 3.6L V6, three variants of A6.2L V8, and A7.0L V8. Each requires SAE 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil, but can also accept SAE 5W-40 over the short period (though this isn't recommended; more on that later). The 3.6L takeS6.0 quarts, each of the 6.2Ls take 8.0 quarts, and the 7.0L takeS-10.5 quarts. The only recommended substitution is SAE 15W-50 engine oil for track events; the SAE 5W-40 substitution above is not recommended if it is avoidable. That's because over the long term (short term racing notwithstanding), higher viscosities can harm Your engine with friction. Over time, this causes wear and tear that can eventually lead to engine failure.

The favored engine oil for the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro is the SAE 5W-30 motor oil. Inability to utilize the favored motor oil or equivalent can bring about motor damage. The engine oil capacity with respect to the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro is 6.0 US quarts (5.7 liters) for 3.6L V6 motor and 8.0 US quarts (7.6 liters) for the 6.2L V8 motor.
