The recommended oil type for the 2014 Mazda CX5 is 0W-20 Synthetic in all temperatures. The capacity for the vehicle iS4.4 quarts with a filter for the 2.0 L 4Cylinder and 4.8 quarts with a filter for the 2.5 L 4Cylinder engine. Synthetic is better than conventional because it contains fewer contaminants thus causing it to not have to be changed as much as conventional. You should do an oil and filter change every 7,500 miles or sooner if You drive in more extreme conditions. The cost of oil is between $6 to $12 per quart or it would be around $26 to $53 for around 4.4 quarts. The cost of an oil change is anywhere from $20 to $30 in labor costs.
