Mazda cx-5 is an awesome vehicle.
No problems ever with this vehicle. It is great on gas, and great in the winter months which is something we really look for. It also has great accident ratings and great safety features. We’ve had our vehicle for over 3 years and have only had to do basic maintenance on it (oil change, tires rotated/new tires). We would definitely purchase another Mazda vehicle again.

Smooth driving comfortable
No complaints. I like my car Smooth driving

Handles like a car, with the capacity and room of an SUV.
I am pleased with my Mazda CX-5. In fact, when my son starts driving, I might purchase another. It's quick turn radius and smooth shock system makes this the most comfortable car I've had. Easy to park in most compact spots and plenty of room for the family while traveling.

Amazing reliable affordable car.
Truly reliable and performs amazing. Only had one problem in the six years I have had it. Great ride and good on gas. Has all the features needed for an enjoyable ride. I love that it is not too big or small which makes it easier to find a parking spot especially when you live in the city.

Leg room and small issues
Cute but do not like the push button feature the year is known to have issues with a part that causes car to not turn completely off also rattling on rear spoiler top fin of car rattles. But all in all small sporty and good on gas. Not too big small for a couple or small family with room in rear for travel and leg room in second row for passengers

Small suv with all wheel drive
I enjoy the all wheel drive and the bluetooth. The only negative is with 2 kids in carseats in the back it is not very roomy

My Mazda cx-5 is a pleasure to drive!
I purchased my Mazda in February, 2020. I felt that it was priced fairly and was in very good condition. I appreciate the gas mileage and comfortable ride it affords me. I did spend $660 at my shop in July as I needed work done. It runs very well again and I am very happy with my vehicle.

Happy Mazda cx-5 owner still after 6 years!
It has 95,000 miles. It has always been very reliable and comfortable. As a homecare nurse this is important since I spend my day in my car. The performance is also is top notch. I have only had a minor problem with the fan switch that was very early on in my ownership and the dealer fixed immediately.

Poor Mazda cx 5 review by owner.
Issues with the battery and connections cause it to be in the shop multiple times. Brake issues. Not very big it is size is deceiving. Does not ride as smooth as I'd hoped. Gas mileage is not that great. With the battery issues the Mazda cx-5 is not very reliable. No lumbar support.
accountCircle A H
Mazda cx5 my father's car. The most modern part of my car is blind side warning.
There is no temperature regulation so in extreme heat or cold the window freezes or dogs. Interior is hard to keep clean. Cabin does not distribute air without making loud noise if either back or front windows are open. Both front and back window have to be open to avoid noise. Sits low.
accountCircle Laurie C
Do not buy it. You will not be satisfied.
I would never buy a Mazda again. They used to be great but Mazda has chosen to go low budget. The car does not have features one assumes is standard. Go for a Honda next time.
accountCircle Larry J
You get what you pay for. Don't expect too much, but overall, it's a really responsive and value car.
Some parts of the inside wall is falling off. It requires a lot of maintenance. However, it is very affordable.
accountCircle Colleen M
Hatchback 4 door SUV. Trunk space is plenty, seats easily fold down.
Comfortable power seats and sunroom is a plus. Good trunk space due to hatch back. Interior is plastic and feels cheap, pieces often pop off inside. Issues with Bluetooth connection and does not allow song skipping. Feels cheap but no engine or body problems and I bought it at 41k miles and have put almost 35k on it since buying it. Driving an hour to work and an hour home the car holds up well. Subaru’s are better with their AWD though, the Mazda cannot compare.
accountCircle Laurie M
It is a pretty decent middle of the road car.
The old Mazda's were so much better than this new one. There is nothing really wrong with it but it does not impress me. It is nice to have the rear backup camera and the sideview mirrors that help see blind spots. I had to choose between this and a Honda CR-V but this was cheaper. I wish I had chosen otherwise.

2014 Mazda cx-5 sport - good.
I bought my 2014 Mazda in 2017, I really loved this car when I first got it and it is still a great car. The only regret I had was not going with a newer model. Push to start, sunroof, and back up camera were in the 2017, but the 2014 has the basics. No complaints otherwise.
accountCircle Megan B
Great family car as long as you are not trying to get somewhere fast.
It has no pickup speed. It is roomy which is nice but I will not buy another SUV with this small of an engine. We have not had any major problems with this car and we have had it a few years. It is reliable and my husband is 6’3 and able to sit comfortably in it. I also like the number of places you can plug in adapters. Again- my only issue is with the pickup speed.

Cx5 zippy and reliable car.
The cx5 is a zippy crossover that is fun to drive. It gets pretty good mileage and has been very reliable. I have only had one issue with it unexpectedly. The one drawback is that the rear side windows are small and hard to see through. Make sure you get a backup camera option.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Paula W.

It runs and is reliable and it was given to me so I like it. I do not know what more I can add to this discussion concerning my daily driver. It is a grey color and is really comfortable and I am grateful to have it.

likeFilled Amanda B.

I love that it is compact but has plenty of space. The rear trunk area was one of the largest that I had come across when I was shopping. I love that it has the Bluetooth touch screen and buttons on the steering wheel. It rides real smooth and is easy to handle.

likeFilled Kacy T.

The car gets good gas mileage, it is great in the snow and rain, it does not cost much to maintain, it has heated seats, power seats, good sounds system, I like that it has dual control for the temperature.

likeFilled Kaylee J.

I think the pros of the Mazda CX-5 is space, comfortably, storage, and great mileage. It is able to fit me and my husband and our two big dogs. Plus we will be starting a family soon so it is a safe and reliable car.

likeFilled Sabrina L.

Favorite features automatic sensing wipers emergency braking: best safety features. The car is a great SUV I have totaled one in a bad accident and the car was mangled but I was slightly bruised. Wish there was more storage room.

likeFilled Katie S.

I love the look of the vehicle. It is comfortable and sleek. It has excellent storage capability. It is easy to use. It has excellent safety features. It feels like a more luxury vehicle, but without the luxury vehicle price.

likeFilled Shirlee S.

It is comfortable. You can see over low cars. The sensor tells me when another car is close and it is not safe to change lanes. I have Bluetooth, so I can talk on mobile phone hands free. It is great on gas - I get 300 miles to the tank. I have space in the back for lots of groceries. I have heated seats. I have Sirius radio. I can listen to Pandora radio or my own tunes on my Apple phone.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Paula W.

Oh gee. So it has this really irritating check engine light that will go on for the most minor of things, like the gas cap not being tight enough or for a low pressure tire light when it has been driven at high altitude.

dislikeFilled Amanda B.

I do not like that there are so many more blind spots. Especially towards the back. The back window is not has big as my last car's so backing up in a parking lot has gotten a lot more adventurous to say the least.

dislikeFilled Kacy T.

Cons are that I would like if it had a remote start, larger trunk space, vents in the back seat for back seat passengers, the navigation system can be problematic and act up sometimes, and the handling could be a bit smoother.

dislikeFilled Kaylee J.

So far one of the cons I have is that the ac/heater went out in the car very quickly. There are also a couple fuses we have had to change rather quickly because of problems. I would not trade my car in, but it is a hassle.

dislikeFilled Sabrina L.

This I personally do not like is the design is boring. I like having more than one way to control car. I wish it had apple carplay or android auto. There is not much I do not like about this car wish had more storage.

dislikeFilled Katie S.

It does not have four wheel drive or all wheel drive. This can be difficult in the winter if there is snow or ice. I have gotten stuck before. I also wish I got better fuel efficiency and more miles per gallon.

dislikeFilled Shirlee S.

The back seat is a little small - but it is perfect for kids, but not large adults or short rides. There is no manual transmission available. The base engine is not powerful enough. The turbo-charged engine is better.
