The 2014 Toyota RAV4 has a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds and a tongue weight oF-150 pounds. The Rav4 also has a payload capacity of 985 to 1,050 pounds depending on the options that are selected. The engine also produces 172 pound feet of torque. The 1,500 pound tow limit on the Rav4 really only makes it good for towing yard debris trailers or a motorcycle. If You need something that can tow You will need to look into a larger SUV that is designed to tow. The Rav4 is much better as a small SUV that can go around town and also handle the trails while going off road.
