Across its five different configurations, the 2015 Kia Sorento comes with one of two engines. You'll either have the 2.4L 4Cylinder, or the 3.3L V6. While both use SAE 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil, they have slightly different capacities. The smaller engine will require 5.3 quarts, while the larger requireS6.0 quarts. If SAE 5W-30 is not available, it's also permissible to substitute SAE 5W-40 over the short term -- but never the long term. Because of SAE 5W-40's inclination towards breakdown and inferior viscosity, it can cause Your engine to wear much faster than usual. This can lead to a reduced lifetime of the vehicle, so it's always worth paying the few extra dollars for the best recommended oil type.
