2015 Kia Sorento: What is the oil type and capacity?

Across its five different configurations, the 2015 Kia Sorento comes with one of two engines. You'll either have the 2.4L 4Cylinder, or the 3.3L V6. While both use SAE 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil, they have slightly different capacities. The smaller engine will require 5.3 quarts, while the larger requireS6.0 quarts. If SAE 5W-30 is not available, it's also permissible to substitute SAE 5W-40 over the short term -- but never the long term. Because of SAE 5W-40's inclination towards breakdown and inferior viscosity, it can cause Your engine to wear much faster than usual.
