The 2015 Kia Sportage useS5.1 quarts of SAE 5W-20 motor oil when You need to change it. Kia also recommends that You use full synthetic oil when You do need to change it. Oil comes in two major varieites, conventional and synthetic. Conventional is a petroleum based oil and synthetic is engineered in a lab to give You better wear protection for Your engine. Synthetic oil also lasts longer than conventional meaning that You will only need to change it every 7,500 miles compared to every 3,500 to 5,000. Be sure to check Your oil regularly to make sure that it is full and in good condition. Low oil levels or debris in the oil can lead to permanent engine damage.

The 2015 Kia Sportage has a synthetic oil type with different viscosity. The 2.0L 4-cylinder engine suggests a SAE 5W-30, while the 2.4L 4-cylinder engine capacity prefers SAE 5W-20. Both engines have an oil capacity of 5.1 quarts, with a dry filter.
