The type of oil that is recommended for the 2015 Ram 1500 depends on the size of the engine. For the 3.0 L V6 diesel it should be Synthetic Diesel 5W-40 in all temperatures and for the 3.6 L V6 and the 5.7 L V8 engine it should be 5W-20 Synthetic in all temperatures. The capacity for the 3.0 L V6 diesel iS-10,6 quarts with a filter, the 3.6 L V6 iS5.9 quarts with a filter and the 5.7 L V8 engine iS7 quarts with a filter. The torque is 25 ft/lbs for the drain plug for all versions of the truck. Oil doesn't last forever so You need to change it after a while. You should do an oil and filter change every 3,000 to 5,000 miles or so.

The 2015 Ram 1500 oil capacity is 6 quarts for 3.6L V6 engine and 7 quarts for the 5.7L V8. Both engines use the same type of oil - SAE 5W-20 full synthetic.
