The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado oil type and capacity iS5w-30 and 6 quarts. Your oil needs to be replaced eventually. Every 5,000 to 10,000 miles is a good rule of thumb. If You don't replace it, there will be issues with the engine. Having high quality oil is key for the engine to run smoothly. You will run into problems with the oil at some point. Bad oil can cause the engine to fail. A normal problem is a nasty burning smell. This needs to be looked into as soon as possible or the car might explode. You could experience terrible gas mileage. Knocking noise may come about from the engine.

The oil capacity of the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado varies by engine type. The 2.5 L4 cylinder can hold 5 quarts and the 3.6L V6 holds 6 quarts (these values hold for the crew cab and extended cab models.) The type of oil for the truck is SAE 5W-30 synthetic.

The 2016 Colorado 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine oil capacity is five quarts. The oil weight is 5W20, NOT 5W30 (the oil filler cap indicates 5W20, same as the owner's manual). Make sure you use oil with the DEXOS designation as per the owner's manual instructions.
