The type of oil that is recommended for the 2016 Dodge Challenger depends on the size of the engine. In the 3.6 L V6 and 5.7 L V8 it is recommended to use 5W-20 Synthetic and in the 6.2 L V8 and 6.4 L V8 engine 0W-40 Synthetic should be used. The capacity for the Challenger also depends on the engine size. The capacity for the 3.6 L V6 and 6.2 L V8 iS5.9 quarts with a filter, the 5.7 L V8 iS6 quarts with a filter and the 6.4 L V8 engine iS7 quarts with a filter. It is important to change the oil every so often because it will go bad after a certain time. In the Challenger the oil and the filter should be changed every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. The cost of a change is anywhere from $20 to $30 in labor costs.
