The 2016 Dodge Charger with the 3.6L V6 engine useS6 quarts of oil, with the 5.7L V8 it useS7 quarts, and with the 6.2L hellcat it will use 7.5 quarts. Dodge recommends that You use synthetic SAE 5W-20 oil for all of the models when You need to change it. There are two types of oil that are most common on the market these days, conventional and synthetic. Conventional is the traditional petroleum-based oil that has been used for decades, and synthetic is newer technology engineered to give You better protection for the components in Your engine. I recommend that You check Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is full and free from debris or damage.

For the 3.6L V6 engine in a 2016 Dodge Charger, the oil capacity is 6 quart. That bumps up to 7 quarts for the 5.7-Liter HEMI® V-8, and 6.4-Liter HEMI V-8. The supercharge 6.2-Liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 can hold 7.5 quarts. The oil type for all engines is SAE 5W-20 synthetic blend oil.
