The oil type used on the 2016 Honda CR-V is Genuine Honda Motor Oil 0W-20. The oil needs to be API premium grade so make sure You search for the API label on the bottle of oil. If You want to know the capacity then it iS4.6 US quarts with a filter and 4.4 US quarts without a filter. The purpose of engine oil is to keep the motor lubricated and to preserve the life of it and its parts. It also reduces friction and wear, which helps keep the motor running long term. Remember to check it at least once a week to make sure it is not getting too low.

The 2016 Honda CR-V uses SAE 0W-20 full synthetic oil, like most modern Honda engines. The oil capacity is 4.6 quarts with a filter, 4.4 without.
