Both engine options available in the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander take 4.5 quarts of a full synthetic 0W-20 engine oil. MitsubishiAlso recommends using one of their own genuine motor oils or any kind that comes with an ILSAC identification mark. A couple of alternatives that meet these criteria include Super Tech Full Synthetic and Castrol Edge. As a temporary solution You can use A5W-20 oil if You've got one available but You should switch back to the 0W-20 on Your next oil change. Full synthetic is definitely the better choice to go with because You'll get better protection from engine wear and extend the life of Your vehicle as long as You follow the routine oil maintenance. -

Mitsubishi's 2016 Outlander oil type is full synthetic SAE 0W-20. Both of the SUV's engines - 2.4L 1-4 and the 3.0L V6 have an oil capacity of 4.5 quarts, the model with a manual transmission takes a little less - 4.2 quarts.
