The type of oil that is recommended for the 2016 Nissan Frontier iS5W-30 Synthetic in all temperatures for both engines. The capacity for the truck iS4.9 quarts with a filter for the 2.5 L 4Cylinder and 5.4 quarts with a filter for the 4.0 L V6 engine. For each engine the torque for the drain plug is 25 ft/lbs. Oil helps to keep a car running because it helps to keep the engine clean. The oil will go bad after a certain time so that is why You need to frequently change it. For the Frontier, the oil and filter should be changed every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. Your oil life indicator will alert You when it needs to be changed.

The 2016 Nissan Frontier has two different oil capacities. The 2.5L 1-4 engine holds 4.9 quarts and the 4.0L V6 takes 5.4 quarts. The preferred oil type for the Frontier is SAE 5W-30 full synthetic engine oil.

I've run synthetic 5w-30 oil in my Frontier as I plan to keep it for a long time. I change the oil every 5000 miles w a filter.
