Synthetic is engineered to give You better protection for Your engine's components compared to conventional which is just made out of petroleum. Synthetic oil also lasts longer than conventional meaning You should only need an oil change every 7,500 miles compared to 3,500 to 5,000. You should make an effort to check Your oil at least once a month. You will want to make sure that it is full and free from debris or signs of burning that could wear down the engine.
