Starting with the 2017 models of the Kia Forte they introduced a new Atkinson-cycle 2.0L 4Cylinder engine and this engine will come as the standard across all trim levels as there is no option to upgrade to anything else. It will have a capacity of 4.2 US quarts and will have the option of running on either 5W-20 or 5W-30 motor oil. No matter which weight of oil You pick it will have to be synthetic. The oil drain plug for this vehicle will have a head size of 16mm and if You have access to a torque wrench You will want to set it to 24 ft/lbs in order to remove the plug.

The 2017 Kia Forte uses an full synthetic oil at SAE 5W-20 or 5W-30 (Check your owners manual to see if there is a viscosity preference by engine code). The 2.0L 4-cylinder engine has an oil capacity of 4.2 quarts.
