The oil change light on Your 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 needs to be reset after every oil change so that the system can determine when the next oil change is due. If You don't reset the light, You will find that Your vehicle will indicate that You need another oil change sooner than would be necessary. The procedure only takes a few moments. First, turn the ignition to the "Run" position. Then, use the arrows on the steering wheel to go through the Menu until You see "Oil Life." Press "Enter" and finally press "Yes" on the menu and this will reset the oil light. You may need to wait for a few minutes but You have completed the procedure and You can turn Your ignition off.
