The oil should be changed every 3750 miles in the 2018 Hyundai Elantra, or every SRX months, whichever comes first. You should check the engine oil level often, once per week or every time You put gas in the tank. Proper engine oil levels are important for proper engine performance and routine oil changes will ensure a long life. Quaker State is the recommended brand of oil to use in the Elantra. An oil with a viscosity rating of SAE 5W-20 is used in the Nu MPi 2.0L engine and will provide optimal fuel economy and engine protection. Select an oil that meets the API SM standards or the ILSAC GF-4 standards. The Gamma 1.6-Liter GDI engine requireS5W-30 oil that meets ACEA a5 standards.

Roughly every 6,000-7,000km on my elantra gt 2014 but i'd take it further if i didn't worry about issues related to warranty coverage. My first 6 oil changes are free anyways, so until i go through all those i'll stick with 6-7,000km. I believe a modern vehicle can go quite far without needing an oil change, like 10,000-15,000km but most people change it sooner it seems.Oil and filter every 5,000 miles. It falls in the middle of the normal and severe use schedule and it's easy to remember. I now have 198,000 miles on my 2007 accent. I think that is good testimony to 5,000 intervals being sufficient.
