Across the seven trims of the 2009 Cadillac XTS, only one engine is used -- the 3.6L V6. Two different engine codes appear (LFxAnd LGX), but for our purposes, these are irrelevant. The 09 XTS takeS6 quarts of SAE 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil, though SAE 5W-40 conventional can be used in the short term. If You're in a climate where it dips below -20 degrees Fahrenheit, You'll want to use SAE 0W-30 instead. Please don't use SAE 5W-40 over the long term, though; it's inclination to breakdown and inferior operating viscosity will cause premature wear to Your engine -- ESPECIALLY at lower temperatures. Even if it's a few dollars more, the SAE 5W-30 will keep You running more efficiently for a longer period of time.

A 2019 Cadillac XT5 has a 3.6L V6 engine that runs best on a synthetic oil type, SAE 5W-30, with the capacity to hold 6 quarts of oil, with a new filter.
