The 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan came standard with a 2.0 L 4Cylinder engine across all trim levels. This engine will have a motor oil capacity of 6 US quarts when the filter is included. The oil type You will need to use is 0W-20 regardless of which type of climate You live in as this oil should not freeze. The oil drain plug will have a head size of 19mm. You will have the option of using a hand tool such as a socket wrench with a 19mm socket or a power tool such as a torque wrench. If You have a torque wrench You will want to set it to 28 ft/lbs in order to remove the plug.

The 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan uses a full synthetic oil, SAE 0W-20 (Castro Professional Brand meets VW standards.) The car's engine holds 6 quarts of oil.

VW requires an oil that says "VW 508" somewhere on the bottle or jug, which results in an oil that is of the "0w-20" type with additional strict VW oil performance requirements. Also, some Porsche and Audi engines use the identical oil. 6 quarts with an oil filter change.
