There are no active recalls for the 2006 Chevy Equinox related to overheating at all. There have been problems reported with the thermostat in the past by owners though, and those problems can lead to the vehicle overheating. Usually a manufacturer only issues a recall when a certain percentage of the parts in a production run begin to fail. That has not happened with the thermostat in the Equinox so it has never had a formal recall issued. If You happen to notice that Your car is overheating You should try to get off the road as soon as possible. Continuing to drive can cause permanent damage to Your engine and ruin gaskets.
