Most automatic transmissions can suffer severe damage if the truck or car is not supplied with a "transmission disconnect" feature. Almost all years and models of the Toyota RAV4Cannot be flat-towed with the exception of some manual transmission trims that include 1996-2005 models. Automatic transmission versions of the Rav4, includinG2020 trims, should not be flat-towed. Due to the design of the Rav4, maintaining all four wheels down for an extended period of time could force manual operation of the tranny without lubrication. Some vehicles require constant pump operation to keep the transmission's moving parts lubricated and clear of extreme damage. If You're looking for a Toyota vehicle green-lighted for flat towing, consider the Land Cruiser or 4Runner.
