The 2020 Ford Explorer can be flat towed if it has the 3.5L standard or Ecoboost engine and four wheel drive. You will need to put Your vehicle's transfer case and transmission in neutral to be able to tow it. Do not attempt to tow one of the front wheel drive models because it does not have the ability to disconnect from the road via a transfer case like the four wheel drive model. That will lead to the transmission being damaged while it is being flat towed behind a truck or RV. In general it is always a better idea to tow vehicles on a trailer rather than flat tow, it puts much less wear and tear on the car and the tires to do it that way.
