The 2002 Toyota Corolla does have anti-lock brakes as part of the standard package in two of its trims. It is available for both the LE and S edition, but not the CE. The use of anti-lock brakes allows You to maintain control when on the road, and not loose Your handle on the steering. This occurs by sending extra traction to Your tires in the case of becoming airborne, or slipping on water or icy conditions. In return, the wheels on Your vehicle will not lock up on You, and You will be able to pull over safely, without concern of extra slipping or an accident.

The le and s editions have that option but not all models of the 2002 corolla offer it.
