You will come across issues with this part at some time. The motor may become faulty. An inaccurate thermostat could come up. A nasty odor from the vents will cause problems with Your comfort. A fan may become loose. A Freon leak will cause You to sweat. You will come across a few annoying noises from the air conditioner. Loose mounting bolts will become a nuisance. A bad compressor will get noisy. Too much Freon will make this happen. These sounds need to be look into quickly or You will lose Your mind.

Under the weather shield between the hood and the windshield on the passenger side is the cabin air port. Mine didn't have a filter just a screen that was totally caked. I just cleaned it off with a shop vacuum. Hopefully that will help with my heat and a/c

A 2007 ford focus does not have a cabin air filter. Trying different filters wouldn't fit this vehicle.
