The 2001 Ford F-150 does not have a heater control valve. The system's heater core does not have a separate valve that allows coolant to flow through it to work the heater. This can be a positive because it is less likely to have any leaks. The negative of this is without a valve there is nothing that is simple and easy to replace if the heater is not working right. It usually means that the most likely problem is with the actual heater core or the blower motor which are more expensive parts to replace than a simple valve. If You notice leaking from Your HVAC system that is usually a sign that there is something wrong in the core.

The 2001 Ford F-150 has a heating ventilation and air conditioning control valve. The purpose of a heater control valve is to control the flow of engine coolant to the heater core, located within the passenger compartment. When the heater or defroster is turned on, warm engine coolant passes through the heater core.
