The 2002 Ford Focus is known to have some problems with oil leaks in the engine compartment. The most common place that You will find an oil leak in this car is at the oil pan gasket. This is where the oil pan seals against the bottom of the engine and if this starts to fail then an oil leak is likely to develop there. Another common place that oil leaks happen is at the valve cover gasket on the engine. This is just another gasket that can fail as it gets older and that would let oil out of the engine. Being a car froM2002 it is pretty common to find oil leaks just because components do wear out over time and need to be replaced.
