The 2007 Chevy Colorado has a timing chain on the engine rather than a belt. This is an improvement over a belt because it will not need to be changed out. Usually the most expensive piece of regular maintenance You will have to do on a car is changing the timing belt. That needs to be done every 60,000 to 100,000 miles, but with a chain You should be good for over 300,000 miles between changes as it does not wear out. You should still check Your timing chain at least once a year to make sure that it is free from damage and not loose at all.

The 2007 Chevrolet Colorado has a timing chain. The timing chain does not require interval maintenance.
