The 2007 Toyota RAV4 does have an auxiliary jack for connecting external devices to the vehicle. This can be found in the center console of the SUV between the two seats. The AUX jack is a 3.5mm jack and You will need to get a male to male 3.5mm cable to be able to attach phones and MP3 players to the car. When You do that You will be able to control song selection via the device and then You will be able to control the volume using the car's volume knob. An auxiliary jack is a great way to be able to have another option for listening to music in Your car compared to the standard CD and radio options.
