The 2008 Chevy Silverado doesn't have a cabin air filter. You will come across a few annoying noises from the air conditioner. Loose mounting bolts will become a nuisance. A bad compressor will get noisy. Too much Freon will make this happen. These sounds need to be look into quickly or You will lose Your mind. Being a sweaty mess is never a good time. That's why the air conditioner needs to be functioning. You will face issues with this part at some time. The motor might become faulty. An inaccurate thermostat could come up. A nasty odor from the vents will cause issues with Your comfort. A fan might become loose. A Freon leak will cause You to sweat.

No, the 2008 Chevy Silverado doesn't have a cabin air filter. The filters aren't available on any Silverado models between 2007-2013.

Thank you for your answer I've looked everywhere for a filter and couldn't find one. So now that I know there isn't one I won't work anymore.

There isn't one installed from the factory, but you CAN get a retrofit kit right from GM to add it in. There's a cavity for it in the HVAC box. The kit will have the filter, the cover and a screw. You have to cut out the space under your box for it to fit. If you're not comfortable with plastic surgery with a utility knife, farm the job out.

Remove the shroud beneath the dash on the passenger side. I believe it's 3-4 7mm socket screws. There is a rectangular relief in the hvac box that can be easily identified. You have to cut it out. I used a multi tool. But a utility knife can be used. There are kits that include a cover/door and a filter. U may want to vaccum out the area as any debris that made it passed the mesh will be falling out of the void. Not aure why but as many have said there is no cabin filter in these chevy models.
