The 2009 Chevy Silverado does have bluetooth but it's optional. You will come into problems with the sound. This could be from the stereo's speakers or a phone that is connected to the vehicle. Whatever the source, You will need to have these issues solved quickly. If the problems are from the stereo's speakers, it could be static sounds, randomly turns off, a loose wire, or a blown fuse. If the problems are coming from the phone, it could be that the software won't update, the device will not sync with the vehicle, the phone's battery is almost dead, or an object is blocking the signal.

The 2009 Chevrolet Silverado does come with the option of Bluetooth connectivity via OnStar. To know if your vehicle is equiped with it, check the steering wheel. If you have OnStar and infotainment controls on the steering wheel, then you can connect your smart phone via Bluetooth. To do so, press and hold the call/talk button on the steering wheel until it says, "Ready". Speak these words, "Bluetooth". The system should respond, "Bluetooth Ready". State, "Pair". Turn on Bluetooth on your smart phone and look for "General Motors". Enter the PIN number on the display. Now you're connected.
