The 2010 HyundaiAccent uses a timing belt, which Hyundai recommends changing every 75,000 miles due to regular wear and tear. If You're a cautious driver and take otherwise good care of Your vehicles, it's possible to get up to 100,000 miles out of them before they become slightly dangerous to drive. The good thing about timing chains is that except for catastrophic circumstances, they don't need to be replaced. Timing belts, however, are much less expensive of a swap. So You've got to take the good with the bad, but don't let it get to a condition where it may fail. If it snaps while You're on the road, You could be looking at a significant chance of personal injury, and there's also a very good chance that the engine's a goner.

The 2010 Hyundai Accent has a timing belt. This will eventually need replaced on the vehicle and requires more maintenance than a timing chain.
