There are some pros and cons to both of those parts but the chain has become more popular in recent years because of the fact that they can potentially last for the life of Your engine. The con of having a chain is the cost of repair if there is a problem with it. It can cost over $1,000 with parts and labor to replace. The best thing You can do to avoid having Your chain fail is to keep an eye on Your oil pressure and make sure it's not too low. -
