The 2012 Toyota Prius does not come equipped with a serpentine belt. Back in 2009 to 2010 model production periods, the serpentine belt began to be excluded. The vehicle does, however, have a timing chain. The chain is expected to last for the lifetime of the vehicle, which ranges from 150,000 to 175,000 miles, on average. If it does need to be replaced, and You choose to do the job Yourself, it would cost You between $103 and $340 for parts alone.
