I recommend that You have the water pump replaced when You do it because the most expensive part is the labor to get to the belt.

Definitely belt. No way, 500 to $700. Absolutely wrong. Change it every 5 years or 60,000 . Do not follow the dealer advice once you are try to buy from them. They want save only money. $250 max in my area. Ask around.
