Ford's 2014 Focus with the 1.6 Turbocharged engine does indeed have problems: So much to the point that some critics have flat out called it the absolute worst Ford You can buy, especially used. How's that for an encouraging sentiment The biggest problem with this specific model year focus is with the transmission. Drivers start noticing severe hesitation and a complete vehicle shaking when accelerating from a stop. This behavior starts on average at only 15k miles, and the cost to fix it averages about $1,500. Combine this with grinding noises that start at barely 7,000 miles, with an average of $3,000 to fix, and it's easy to see why owners joined together with A-A-Classction suit. Yes, that's correct. This model year was so bad, that owners flat up sued Ford over the problems with its Powershift automatic transmission. And guess what There's still millions of those Focuses out on the road, jarringly and haltingly strutting about with their poorly designed gearboxes! Avoid this vehicle --- and if You've just bought one used, be prepared for some misery.

The 2014 ford focus equipped with the 1.6-Liter turbo diesel engine unfortunately has some major issues or faults. Consumers have reported problems with the turbocharger failing, usually due to oil starvation or leaky injectors. The egr valve also has common problems that require replacement. There are other issues and you should investigate to be sure you aren't buying a fault-prone vehicle.
