Remote start was a feature that was not offered from the factory on the 2014 Hyundai Sonata. The first year to be offered directly from Hyundai with this feature was the 2015 model but it used the Bluelink system which required the use of an app vs using a keyfob. You do have other options if You want to have a remote start added to Your 2014 Sonata. If You are buying the vehicle used from a dealership You can sometimes convince them to have a local automotive electronics shop install an alarm remote start combo. Negotiating this feature with the dealer can help You get the work done for a good deal cheaper than takeng the car to the install shop Yourself.

Unfortunately the 2014 Hyundai Sonata with the smart/proximity key is NOT capable of remote start ability.
Yes, it does. You have to have the right remote. I have a 2012 and my auto start. Go to the dealership. It's hard to find the right remote online now. I bought a 2nd remote online in 2016 used and the dealership programmed it free for me. The remote cost $200 or more new from the dealership back then.
