The 2015 Jeep Cherokee did not have the option to have Apple CarPlay in the dash. The main smartphone feature that it has is bluetooth connectivity which can let You stream Audio and phone calls to Your car. If You need to have CarPlay in Your 2015 Cherokee there are a few ways that You can do it. There are third party kits that are on the market that can plug into Your original screen from Jeep and allow You to use CarPlay. You can also replace Your original stereo with a new unit that has CarPlay functionality in it. Either of these options will give You the tech upgrade without having to spend a fortune.

The 2015 Jeep Cherokee does not come with Apple CarPlay as an option originally. There is now an OEM replacement infotainment system that allows for the 2015 Cherokee to be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
