While the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu's base L trim level did not come with a backup camera, the upgraded LS, 1LT, 2LT, and Premier trim levels did. You can tell if your Malibu has a backup camera or not by checking if the dashboard is fitted with a touch screen head unit. If it is, then you're so equipped. If you're not, then you'll have to look to aftermarket solutions. Luckily, quite a few of those exist. If you're a driver of the L trim level, even Chevrolet Makes an OEM kit that can be fitted to your car. It may be a bit less expensive to go with a third party manufacturer though; they're often just as reliable and have many of the same features, but the price tag can be cut by as much as half.
A backup camera was not available on the 2016 chevy malibu, but a rear-view camera kit by chevrolet is available to be added on.
