The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica does come equipped standard with a timing chain, instead of a timing belt. A timing belt has to be checked and changed regularly, however, a timing chain does not. The benefit of a chain is that it is much more sturdy, allowing it to last for the life expectancy of the vehicle itself. This can range between 150,000 and 200,000 miles. Usually, the manufacturer will provide warranty coverage in case of premature breakage and wear. If You do need to purchase a new chain, You can expect to pay between $80 and $240 for the part alone. If You pay a mechanic to provide the service, You will pay between $50 and $340 for labor.

The Pacifica has four timing chains, not timing belts. The manufacturer has a maintenance schedule that the consumer should follow. This can be found in the owner's manual. Repair shops can complete this kind of maintenance. Timing chains are more durable than belts and do not require replacing as frequently.
