Yes, like most newer models of vehicles the 2017 Ford Expedition does have a cabin air filter that You'll need to change every 25,000 miles or so. The filters work to keep out all sorts of pollutants, dust, and even pollen from the cabin. Over time these will become full of dirt and begin to restrict the airflow into Your vehicle. You could pay a dealership to do it at Your next maintenance but it's really a simple job that anyone can do. The only tool required will be a wrench with A7 mm socket to take apart one piece of the dash. Purchasing a new filter for this model of vehicle will only cost around $20. -

Most vehicles have some kind of filter that the outside air comes through before going into the passenger compartment. This prevents contaminants like dirt and dust from entering the cabin. Some cabin air filters can be replaced but, others cannot. The Expedition has a replaceable cabin air filter as standard equipment across all trim levels. When the cabin starts to have a musty odor, it is time to change the filter.
