If You don't already know, Apple CarPlay is a functionality on certain vehicles that lets drivers connect their Apple devices to their sound system. Some of the things You can do are talk to Siri, make and receive calls and texts, and even get directions. Most of what You can ask Siri to do on Your device You'll be able to do once You connect Your device to Your vehicle. It's a pretty neat feature since it is against the law to use a phone and drive.

Final answer is NO 2017 Subaru’s did not have Apple CarPlay. I don’t know what these other people are thinking or talking about.

I agree with John. My 2017 Forester does not have apple carplay. It has a samsung version for android phones. But does not support the apple carplay app. I think the 2018 has apple car play because whenever I brought my car in for service, the loaners had apple car play.

NA models - up to and including the loaded XT premium do not include traditional Apple Carplay - although extra iOS functionality is available via Starlink app.
