The 2018 Chevy Traverse does in fact have an OBD-II port and it is located under the dashboard on the driver's side. The port is used to read and clear fault codes from the ECU by connecting an OBD-II scan tool to it. OBD-II ports have been standard in all vehicles sold in the United States since 1996 when it was mandated. The scan tool communicates with the computer to read the trouble codes which are used to determine what is wrong with the vehicle. The trouble codes are 4-digit codes which are precede by a letter. If the code begins with a P it means there is an issue in the powertrain. A code beginning with a B indicates a body issue, C stands for chassis and a U means a network problem.
